KANAWHA - Kimberly Echard, 49, of Walker, was injured in an accident on W.Va. 47 about two miles east of Kanawha at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, officials said.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office and Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident, said Chief Law Enforcement Deputy Shawn Graham.
Echard was traveling eastbound on W.Va. 47 in a 1980 Chevrolet custom deluxe pick-up truck, police said.

A helicopter lands near Kanawha Elementary School to transport Kimberly Echard, of Walker, after her Chevrolet pick-up truck ends up on its side on W.Va. 47 Tuesday afternoon.
"The vehicle crossed over into the westbound lane," Graham said of the crash. "The driver over-corrected and went back across the eastbound lane."
After Echard over-corrected she rode along the eastbound embankment until striking a tree and flipping the vehicle over onto the driver's side, Graham said. She was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by volunteer firefighters and first responders, he said.
Echard was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center, officials said. Her condition was not immediately known Tuesday evening, Graham said.
