Tanker truck accident forces road closure

ST. MARYS - Pleasants County 16 was shut down around 8 p.m. Monday after a tanker truck rolled over onto its side, officials said.

Pleasants County emergency officials said all of its manpower was being used at the accident that occurred two miles from W.Va. 2 (Third Street in St. Marys) on Pleasants County 16.

"Every unit we have is there (on the scene)," said a dispatcher with the Pleasants County Emergency Communications Center.

According to early reports, a tanker truck carrying gasoline and diesel fuel crashed, rolling over, an official said.

St. Marys Volunteer Fire Department and Pleasants County sheriff's deputies were on scene, officials said. The condition of the truck driver was unknown Monday night.
