William H. Arnott, 78, of Coolville, Ohio, passed into eternal life on Feb. 28, 2013.
He was the son of the late Clifford Sr. and Ethel Arnott.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol (Craft) Arnott; his brothers, Cifford Jr. (Judy) of Michigan and Paul of Florida; sons, Mike (Carol) of South Carolina, Richard (Betty), Thomas (Carol) and Charles (Barbara), all of Coolville, Ohio; daughters, Linda (Larry) Backus of Parkersburg, W.Va., Dianna (Mike) Wilson of Reedsville and Denise Arnott of Coolville; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora; and a grandson.
William served as a Marine in the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion. He was an avid 'Ham' operator. He served as Special Deputy Sheriff for Athens County, and also a security officer at the Marietta Court House.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, Ohio. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
