Kenneth Douglas Dean

Kenneth Douglas Dean, 78, of Ravenswood, W.Va., passed away Feb. 22, 2013, at CAMC, Memorial Division, Charleston, W.Va.

He was born March 16, 1934, in Richwood, W.Va., a son of Gilbert O. Dean and Ellen Peters Dean.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a retired welder and millwright at Ravenswood Aluminum. He attended Ravenswood Church of the Nazarene, an avid pilot having begun flying in the Marines, and enjoyed his times as a member of Ravenswood Lions Club.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Loretta "Rae" Dean of Ravenswood, W.Va.; sons, Bruce Dean and his wife, Sherry, of Charleston, S.C., Scott Dean and his wife, Sue, of Cottageville, W.Va., and Brian Dean of Ravenswood, W.Va.; brothers, Jim Dean and his wife, Irene, of Ravenswood, W.Va., and Bern Dean and his wife, Jodie, of Ravenswood, W.Va.; grandchildren, Ashley Dean Potts and her husband, Corwyn, of Biloxi, Miss., and Cassie, Sara and Alex Adkins of Sandyville, W.Va.; and great-grandson, Tucker Potts of Biloxi, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va., with Pastor David Shirer officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, W.Va. Friends may visit the family from noon-2 p.m. Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
