William J. Renner

William J. "Bill" Renner, 86, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Feb. 19, 2013, at Ohio Valley Health Care.

Bill was born April 3, 1926, at Worthington, W.Va., a son of the late William G. and Bonnie D. Basnett Renner.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired as an engineer from the railroad with 33 years of service. Bill was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 9 A.F.&A.M., Fairmont, W.Va., Knights Templar Crusade Commandery No. 6, Fairmont, and a longtime member of Belpre Church of Christ.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Virginia Bruce Renner; a son, William J. Renner and his wife, Alisa, of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Fordyce; and a brother, George K. Renner.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd., Belpre, Ohio, with Ronald D. Laughery officiating. Services will conclude with burial in Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, with military graveside services by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
