Ernest G. ‘Bud’ Starcher

Ernest G. "Bud" Starcher, 74, of Williamstown, passed away Feb. 15, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Starcher was born Oct. 26, 1938, at Eureka, Ohio, a son of the late Glen C. Starcher and Gladys Burke Starcher Cooper.

He was retired from the former Allegheny Power Co., and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a very avid reader, and a member of the U.S.S. Fiske Association.

He is survived by his daughter, Jayme Allyn Starcher Fife (Andy) of Williamstown; two brothers, Richard Starcher of South Carolina and E. Lee Starcher of Lubeck; two grandchildren, Jared Ryan Starcher Fife and Aiden Michelle Fife; and lifelong friends, Janie and Jim Deem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on July 31, 2009, by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Tallman Starcher.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg, with Bishop James Robrecht officiating. Concluding services and interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
