Jean Ann Buckley, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 15, 2013, at her home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Belpre, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Nolan Root, and stepdaughter of the late Nellie Root.
Jean was a longtime member of Camden Avenue Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Belpre High School, and had formerly worked for the State Department of Washington, D.C., Kaiser Aluminum, Miller's Accounting Services, Astorg Accounting Services, and American Express. She and her husband had owned and operated the Sunshine Car Wash on Division Street for several years.
Surviving is one son, David Ray Buckley of Tokyo, Japan; two daughters, Belinda Bee Buckley and Karen (John) Life, both of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jeremiah) McKenzie, Jana (Jeremy) Myers, Charles David (Tanya) Buckley and Sarah Katherine Buckley; two great-grandchildren, Chase Buckley and Caleb Limbauch; and one sister, Charlene Bell of Belpre.
In addition to her parents and stepmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Buckley in 1973; a brother, Robert Root; and a sister, Billie Mulligan.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg. Evangelist John Rockhold and Mr. Walter Morgan will be speaking, and burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Tuesday.
