Harold Leroy Snyder, 67, of Parkersburg, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, suddenly at his home.
He was born June 23, 1945, in Parkersburg, to the late Myrtin and Nora (Williams) Snyder. He enjoyed working in his garage, watching Nascar, spending time with his great-grandson, Riley 'Rowdy' Hupp, arguing politics and union, and loved his two dogs, Ozzy and Gizmo.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary (Wilcox) Snyder; two daughters, Wendy (Snyder) McCoy of Ravenswood and Lisa Myers (Cliff) of Parkersburg; four sons, Matt Snyder of Elizabeth, Freddie West and Glen West, both of Parkersburg, and Shawn West (Debbie) of Mineral Wells; 12 grandchildren, including granddaughter, Taylor Hupp, whom he raised, and grandson, Ryan Hupp, whom he helped raise; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Davis and Jessie Goodwin; two brothers, Marvin Snyder (Gail) and Robert Snyder (Jackie); two brother-in-laws, Roy Wilcox and Ernie Lemon; and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Duckworth and Lillian Forshey; and one brother, Blaine Snyder.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Sean Law officiating. Burial will follow the service at Independence Cemetery in Jackson County, W.Va. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
