Pauline Simmons Wonycott

Pauline Simmons Wonycott, 89, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 12, 2013, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Barbour County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Luther and Sarah Peck Simmons. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking, and was known for her bread and famous fried dough, sewing, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Park Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 60 years.

She is survived by her children, Carol Tracey and husband Richard of Hudson, Fla., Terry L. Wonycott and wife Jessie of Ohio, and Angela D. Wonycott and life partner Kevin Fielder of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lou Simmons of Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and seven sisters.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sunset Memory Gardens, with Rev. Daniel Morikone officiating. There will be no visitation, and the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
