Ms. Jettie Stevens, 83, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.
She was a 12 year resident of Hickory Creek of Athens The Plains, Ohio. Prior to that, she lived in New Marshfield, Ohio. Jettie worked at Shell Chemical, and was a Foster Mother for five years. She was a Baptist.
Jettie is preceded in death by her parents, Glenna and Sylvia Long Summers; her husband of 16 years, William Stevens; and three sons, Tim, Jerry and Billy Stevens. She is survived by three sons, Hollie McCartney of Elizabeth, Edward McKown of Ohio, and Garrell 'Gene' Summers of Ohio; three daughters, Terry Stevens of Pennsylvania, Mary Stevens of North Carolina, and Misty Stevens of Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A tribute to the life of Jettie Stevens will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Busch Kimes chapel, with Pastor Edsyl Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Chapel Church Cemetery in Annamoriah. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236, in her honor.
