Marshall Dell Stanley, 67, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Feb. 8, 2013, at the Ohio State University Hospital.
He was born in Beckley, W.Va., the son of the late Robert and Opal Biggs Stanley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and had worked at one time for Rish Equipment and had retired from All Crane Equipment. He enjoyed traveling, reading, keeping up with current events and political issues, and West Virginia Mountaineer and Parkersburg Big Red football. He was a member of the Wayside United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Eisman Stanley of Vienna; his daughter, Andra Marie Stanley of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his sister, Alice Kyer and husband Calvin of Spencer, W.Va.; his brothers, Glenn Stanley and wife Elsie of Morgantown, W.Va., and Jack Stanley and wife Melba of Bellefontaine, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Stanley.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Dr. T. Patrick Kerr officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grafton National Cemetery.
