Roxie E. Ford, 78, of Hockingport, Ohio, died Feb. 9, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on Feb. 11, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Bernice Rood Randolph.
She had worked for the Peddler Bike Shop in Athens and had been a volunteer for Hospice for several years. She was a graduate of Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, Ohio. She had also managed the Hockingport Storage Buildings. She was a member of Hockingport United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher, and currently the Secretary/Treasurer and a representative for the church to the Methodist Conference. She had also played the piano for the church. She loved gardening, canning, community volunteer work and spending time with her church and family.
Survivors include a son, Carl D. (Debbie) Ford Jr. of Parkersburg; a daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Jenne of Belpre; three grandchildren, Joshua Gibbs, Trey Ford and Tara Null; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Colten and Raelynn Gibbs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl D. Ford Sr.; a son, Monte Ford; and a brother, Russell Randolph.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre. Burial will follow in Stewart Cemetery, Hockingport, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m.
