Charles Orville Nutter, 86, of Belpre, wonderful husband, daddy, grandpa and #1 father-in-law, who will be desperately missed by his wife, daughters, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, affectionately called him grandpa 'Nutt', died Feb. 8, 2013, at Eagle Point in Parkersburg.
He was born in Newark, W.Va., on Feb. 28, 1926, and was the son of the late John Wesley and Carrie Elizabeth Fought Nutter. He retired from Elkem Metals in 1990. He was a member of the Friendship Ridge Christian Fellowship Church, a WWII Army Veteran, and a member of the VFW Post #121 in Parkersburg.
Survivors include his wife, Belma G. Wilkinson Nutter; two daughters, Pamela Nutter (Phil) Kaiden of Belpre, and Tamela Nutter (Fred) Knopp of Belpre; his grandchildren, Rodney 'Mikie' (Heather) Nutter Jr., Danielle Nutter (Mike) Tawney, Katrina (John) Lucas, Ryan (Samye) Robinson, Patrick Nutter, Jessica Nutter, Kaitlyn Knopp (Davey) Martin and Kendall Knopp; his step-grandchildren, Mike (Teri) Kaiden and Chance (Lacey) Kaiden; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Nutter (Harvey) Cline; travel companions brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Linda Wilkinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rodney Michael Nutter Sr. and Randall Patrick Nutter; and a brother, Edwin Nutter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor David Ellenwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday, and up to service time on Monday.
