Ronald L. Kincaid

Ronald L. Kincaid, 85, of Parkersburg, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, after a long illness.

He was dedicated to his religion, family, friends and profession. He was a terrific role model, a man of his word, and did what was right even when difficult. He will be missed by all.

He was the son of the late William 'Willie' Homer Kincaid and Minnie Florence Caldwell Kincaid.

Ron was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert 'Hatchet', Hobert 'Hobe', Hiram, Donald and Harlan; sisters, Macel Arnott, Berneda 'Beady' Arnott, Emogene 'Tim' Ferrell, Pearl Hefner, Evelyn Kincaid and Joan Niday; and son-in-law, Arnold Pifer. Ron was also preceded in death by his best friend, Lawrence Mace. They were life-long friends.

Ron was Spencer High School Class President and played many sports. After service in the Air Force, he earned his education degrees from Potomac State, Marshall University and West Virginia University. Ron began his education career in 1954 with the Wood County school system. He was a coach, teacher and principal. He was Parkersburg High School Principal from 1972 to 1988 when he retired. Ron was also a past Deacon and active member of the North End Church of Christ. He did missionary work in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jackie of Parkersburg; his daughter, Debbie Pifer of Parkersburg; his sons, Doug Kincaid of Virginia Beach, Va., Don (Karen) Kincaid of Tampa, Fla., and Jim (Debbie) Kincaid of Jacksonville, Fla.; his daughters-in-law, Stephanie Kincaid and Cindy Noell; his grandchildren, Amy (Brad) Oehlmann, Andi (Shawn) Sessa, and Alyssa and Jack Kincaid; his step-grandchildren, Missy (Shane) Brabham and Holly (Mark) Nelson and Jesse Adaway; his great-grandchildren, Braden Oehlmann and Addilyne Sessa; and his step-great-grandchildren, Brooke and Buddy Brabham and Ivy Greene.

Ron's funeral service will held 11 a.m. Monday at North End Church of Christ, Parkersburg, with Steve McIntire officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va. His family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at North End Church of Christ.
