LOWELL - An argument over household chores escalated Monday night into a physical altercation, during which a Lowell woman allegedly stabbed her stepfather, officials said.
Angela D. Myers, 18, of 6950 Ohio 60, was arrested Monday for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, after taking a kitchen knife and stabbing Edward D. Binegar, 50, in the leg, according to police.
"I think he was trying to get her to clean up or take out the garbage can," said Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks.

During the argument, Binegar picked up an aluminum broom and proceeded to hit Myers. There were marks on Myers' wrists, hands and back, said Mincks.
"She decided to fight back rather than retreat," he said.
It is possible that charges will also be filed against Binegar, said Mincks.
However, Myers was found with the knife and admitted to stabbing her stepfather, giving the Washington County Sheriff's Office probably cause to arrest her, he said.
"It will be up to a grand jury or a jury trial to decide if she was justified in stabbing him," he added.
Binegar was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment of a severe leg laceration, said Mincks.
A hospital official said Tuesday afternoon there was no record of Binegar as a patient.
Myers is being held at the Washington County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
