Lois Ann Sams

Lois Ann Sams, 60, of Belleville, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, W.Va.

She was born in Parkersburg, on Jan. 3, 1953, a daughter of the late Layman and Agnes Harper Flinn. Lois had worked at Dudley's Florist, Montgomery Wards, and for 10 years at Coldwater Creek. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and flowers, and was an excellent cook. Most important to her were her family, grandchildren and their activities. She was a member of the Hopewell Church of Christ.

Surviving Lois are her husband of 40 years, Jim E. Sams; children, Stacy Sams (Mike) of Davisville, Jason Sams (Rebecca) of Lubeck, and Jeremy Sams (Carly) of Belleville; grandchildren, Austin, Tristin, Justin, Ashley, Brandon, Remmingtin and Matthew; brother, Laymen Flinn; sister, Mary Soales (Danny); brother, Ed Flinn (Carolyn); brother-in-law, Steve Miller; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Flinn Miller.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Randy Baker officiating. Burial will be at the Wadesville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
