Ralph C. Hall, 89, of Belpre, Ohio, died at Marietta Memorial Hospital on Feb. 2, 2013.
He was born on Nov. 10, 1923, at Constitution, Ohio, and was the son of the late Lewis Phillip and Bertha Rocina Wagner Hall.
He graduated from Marietta High School in 1942, and then entered the Army having served during World War II in the South Pacific as a truck driver for the 172nd Quarter Master Bakery Company. He had been a member of the Belpre VFW Post 8289. He watched the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the atomic bomb, take off on its mission. He loved his vehicles, especially his 1983 Olds. He retired from E.I. DuPont Company in 1980. He was a former member of Constitution Methodist Church, and currently attending Belpre Heights United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of over 66 years, Nelda Hall; two sons, John (Penny) Hall of Vincent and Gary (Mathilde) Hall of Belpre; three daughters, Donna (Donald) Ingraham of Vincent, Janet (Richard) Ingraham of Waverly, W.Va., and Patty (Jeffrey) Wolfe of Belpre; his grandchildren, David Hall, Craig Hall, Jason Hall, Marian Thompson, Michael Shane Lupardus, Richard Dexter Ingraham III, Amanda Ingraham and Jeffrey (J.D.) Wolfe; and his great-grandchildren, Rachael Hall, Dakota Thompson, Olivia Hall, Daniella Hall, Brett Lupardus and Shayne Lupardus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Bernice Masters and Mary Lee.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with the Rev. Rod Brower and the Rev. Paul McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Post 15 of the American Legion.
