Marvin D. "Shug" Bush, 79, of Parkersburg, died Feb. 3, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born July 26, 1933, in Cox's Mill, W.Va., a son of the late Buel Scott and Roxie King Bush.
He was retired from C&P Telephone Company as a lineman after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Brown Bush; two stepdaughters, Kimberlee (Curtis) Stone of North Wilkesboro, N.C., and Karen (David) Post of Mineral Wells; three grandchildren, Steven Neal of North Carolina, Tiffany Wood of Traphill, N.C., and Courtney Post of Mineral Wells; great-granddaughter, Stella Wood; two nieces, Marcie (Mike) Deitsch of Tennessee and Tina (Rick) Thomason of Springdale, Ark.; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Bush.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Endowment Fund.
