VIENNA-It was a victorious homecoming for former-Parkersburg South standout Kim Stephens, who now serves as an assistant coach for the Lady Pioneers, as No. 20 Glenville State College handed host Ohio Valley University a 109-75 setback Thursday night at the Snyder Activity Center.
"It's always great coming home," said Stephens, who played for the Pioneers from 2007-11 and served as a graduate assistant at OVU last season. "We're taking the team to my parents' house and my mom is making the team tacos after the game."
The Pioneers left little doubt that they were deserving of their high ranking as five players reached double digits led by Kenyona Simmons' 21 points. Ginny Mills chipped in 19 points while Kenyell Goodson, Ashleigh Fossett and Aesha Peters added 12 points each. Senior Jasmine Gibson, who entered the game as the No. 7 scorer in the WVIAC (19.8 ppg), led the Fighting Scots with a game-high 23 points.
