Rebecca A. Mangus, 38, of Washington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of Delmas and Joyce (Thomas) Mangus of Washington.
She was a kindergarten teacher for the Wood County Board of Education and a member of Evangelical Methodist Church. She was a 1992 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. She graduated from Marietta College and received her Masters from Marshall University.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister Jeanette Mangus of Washington; maternal grandmother Crystal Thomas of Washington; paternal grandfather Delmar Mangus of Sissonville, W.Va.; her aunts and uncles Jerry and Peggy Mangus, Larry and Julia Thomas, Forrest and Shirly Thomas, Carol and Jerry Haynes, Delores Cummings, Sharon Jones (Ed Norris), Sandy Hayes, Charles Jones, and Gary Wayne Jones; many cousins; three special friends April, Kim, and Missy; and over three hundred of her kindergarten children, who were her babies.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Ervil Thomas, maternal grandmother Nellie Jones, and paternal step grandmother Eunice Mangus.
Services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Jeff Williamson officiating. Burial will be Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today, 2-8 p.m.
