Herbert W. Lindstead, 98, Columbus, passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, 2013.
He was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Imlay City, Mich. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as a captain in the Corps of Engineers. Herbert was a color specialist and retired from Borg-Warner. He was an avid reader and enjoyed photography, painting and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nora Lee (Pollock) Lindstead; children, Susan (Tom) Herbster and Mark Alan (Lori) Lindstead; grandchildren, Cara (Tom) Hering, Christopher (Heather) Herbster, Kelly Herbster (Justin Jacobson), Neal Lindstead and Noah Lindstead; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Simon Hering, Reagan and Sydney Herbster, and one on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Per Herbert's wishes, there will be no public services at this time, and he will be laid to rest in Parkersburg.
