MARIETTA - A report from a family member led to the arrest Sunday of Roy Gene Delancey, 48, 5700 Buchanan Road, Waterford, on a fifth-degree felony charge of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs, Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
Further investigation yielded photographs found in Delancey's truck that depicted a teenage female performing sexual acts, said the sheriff's office. The victim, who was 17 years old at the time the photos were taken, confirmed they were taken by Delancey's brother Rodney prior to Rodney's conviction in 2011 on sexual offenses, said the sheriff's office.
Questioned about the images, Delancey allegedly admitted they were taken from his brother's trailer to destroy before the execution of a search warrant in 2011, said the sheriff's office. Delancey and his mother, Irene Delancey, were indicted in July 2012 on tampering with evidence charges related to that case. The drug possession charge was due to the discovery of marijuana and paraphernalia in Roy Delancey's truck, officials said.
Roy Delancey remains incarcerated in lieu of $5,000 bond in the Washington County Jail.
