Nellie Roach Herning, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born April 8, 1925, in Orma, W.Va., a daughter to the late Jessie and Amanda Keith. She was a lifetime member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, owned and operated the Clover Leaf Restaurant, worked with her husband Jay at DeVry Institute of Technology, and volunteered at Camden Clark Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd L. Roach Sr.; husband, Jay E. Herning; brother, Ray Keith; and sisters, Edith O'Donald and Nora Brookover. She is survived by her son, Lloyd L. "Larry" Roach Jr. (Portia) of Washington; daughter, Joyce A. Sinnett (Mike) of Parkersburg; step-brother, Harry Newell; grandchildren, Kimberly Rutledge and David Roach; along with seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Lloyd Keith and Tom McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
