The Big Red boys went into the meet with a huge disadvantage as their top individuals -Sean Snider and Preston Padden -were out of the lineup, Snider to attend a school function and Padden with a lingering illness.
But the Big Reds got a first place from Nic Cheuvront in the 50 freestyle as the sophomore who hadn't participated in swimming since grade school touched the wall first.
The Big Reds also won the 200 freestyle relay with the team of Peyton Hughes, Eric Eisenmann, Anthony Kist and Cheuvront.
Hughes placed third in the 100 backstroke and fifth in the 100 freestyle. Eisenmann had a pair of fifths, in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.
The Big Reds won't have to travel next weekend as Parkersburg will conduct the PHS Penguin Invitational at the Parkersburg YMCA next Saturday.
