SHADYSIDE, Ohio - Freshman Taryn McCutcheon scored all nine of Parkersburg South's points in the extra sessions and finished with her first career triple-double here Saturday afternoon as the visiting Patriots topped Shadyside, 76-72, in double-overtime.
Parkersburg South, now 6-5 with a road game next Saturday at rival Parkersburg, received a game-high 29 points from McCutcheon, who also grabbed 10 boards and dished out 10 assists. Keya Bartlett added 19 points and Miranda Workman chipped in eight points and five steals for the Patriots.
Hayley Holenka led the Tigers (6-6) with 25 markers and teammate Karli Bonar went for 23.

MORGANTOWN - Jackie Halapy poured in a game-high 28 points for host Trinity here Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't quite enough as Parkersburg Catholic ran its record to 8-4 with a 58-54 road victory.
Leah Hughes, who hit 8 of 9 from the foul line, sealed the victory late with her free throws. Hughes finished with 16 points, eight boards, five steals and three assists. Crusaderette Maddie Roedersheimer tallied 12 points and missed a double-double by one board. She also had four assists and three steals.
Trinity also received 13 markers from Meagan Triplett and 10 from Megan Myers.
PCHS, which returns to action with a home game Monday versus Ravenswood, also got 10 points apiece from Reily Sturm and Alex Schaffer while Ellen Roedersheimer provided eight tallies off the bench, six of those in the second half.

BEVERLY - In a matchup of one-loss teams from West Virginia and Ohio, top-tanked Huntington St. Joseph prevailed over host Fort Frye 63-52 Saturday night.
The Cadets took a 25-17 halftime lead with a 13-2 second quarter, but the visiting Irish responded with a 29-12 fourth quarter to secure the win.
St. Joe, now 10-1, was led by Mychal Johnson with 22 points and Griffin Dempsey with 20.
Fort Frye, now 12-2, was paced by Taylor Buchanan with 21 points and Morgan Liedtke with 10.
Frontier 48, Tyler Consolidated 43
KIDWELL - Point advantages of 15-11 and 17-15 in the second and fourth quarters respectively enabled Frontier to notch a 48-43 victory over host Tyler Consolidated Saturday in the championship game of the Boggs Roundball Classic.
The visiting Cougars got 13 points from Christin Douglass and 10 each from Kelsey Daugherty and Kelsie Rinard in the win, while the Silver Knights, now even on the season at 6-6, were led by Torrye Cline and Sophia Kinnard with 12 points each.

WILLIAMSTOWN - Wood County Christian fell behind 16-8 after the first quarter on Saturday afternoon and never recovered and visiting Cross Lanes Christian left town with a 43-31 victory.
Laura Jones led all scorers with 17 points for CLL, which improved to 10-4 and also received 14 counters from Courtney Kendrick.
WCC, now 7-5 with a 6:30 p.m. varsity only game set for Monday at Belpre, got eight points, six steals and three assists from Adria Herridge. Heather Lord added seven points and Rachel Ruble pulled down 10 caroms to go along with her six tallies.

ST. MARYS - Tygarts Valley was no match for host St. Marys in the opening round of the W.Va Hometown Invitational Tournament as the Blue Devils prevailed, 71-43.
Tygarts Valley (7-3) did get a game-high 21 points from Shanda Howell, but Kendra Walker and Audra Clark led St. Marys (10-1) to victory via double-double efforts.
Ashley Hall had 16 points for St. Marys, which got a combined 35 points and 25 rebounds from the duo of Walker and Clark.

PADEN CITY - Kayla Barker and Logan Cosper combined for 15 points while Cydney Blatt and Myah Charkawi combined for 20 rebounds during Paden City's 48-16 victory versus Union on Saturday in the opening round of the WVHIT.

Ravenswood 66, Webster County 44
RAVENSWOOD -Ravenswood had a 10-point halftime lead and went on to win by 22 here Saturday night against visiting Webster County, 66-44.
The Red Devils (7-5) were led in scoring by Hailey Miller's 20 and Taylor Youell's 18. Taylor Treadway snared seven boards in the win.
Webster County was lead in scoring by Brandi Clevenger and Taylor Anderson, who scored 14 points apiece.
Next up for Ravenswood will be a trip to Parkersburg to take on the Crusaderettes of Parkersburg Catholic on Monday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Clay-Battelle 60, Magnolia 42
KIDWELL - Mark Winters scored a game-high 27 points, but the rest of top-ranked Class A Magnolia's squad accounted for only 15 here Saturday in the finals of the Boggs Roundball Classic as the Blue Eagles (8-2) were blown out by Clay-Battelle, 60-42.
Logan Opyoke (19), Tristan Haught (16) and Zach Chisler (16) scored all but nine of now 6-3 Clay-Battelle's points.
Tyler Consolidated 77,
Bellaire St. John 31
KIDWELL - Playing on its home floor, Tyler Consolidated dominated Bellaire St. John, 77-31, on Saturday en route to taking third place in the Boggs Roundball Classic.
Dylan Romine went for 20 points, seven boards, and five steals for the now 4-8 Silver Knights, who welcome Williamstown on Friday.
TCHS also had a 19-point effort from Darren Heintzman, who grabbed seven boards. Scott Sole hit five 3s in the win and tallied 17 points.
Bellaire St. John, which missed 18 of 21 from the charity stripe, had a team-high six points from John Alvey.
Webster County 57, Ravenswood 43
RAVENSWOOD - Sixth-ranked Class AA Webster County improved to 7-1 on Saturday by picking up a 57-43 win at Ravenswood.
Brett Morris had a game-high 20 points for the Highlanders, who received 15 counters from Hunter Given.
The Red Devils, now 2-7 with a home game Tuesday versus Williamstown, got a solid effort from Jake Martin, who had 19 points, seven boards, five assists and two steals. Isaac Crow contributed eight points and 11 caroms.
Charleston Catholic 61,
Gilmer County 44
GLENVILLE - Gilmer County got off to a slow start Saturday night and Charleston Catholic left town with a 61-44 road victory to improve to 7-1.
The Titans, now 6-4 and set to visit Clay County on Tuesday, had double figure scoring nights from Anthony Aviles (14) and Austin Cunningham (13).
Keifer Horvorka hit four treys to finish with 13 points for the 7-1 Irish, who also got 12 points from Garrett McCarty and 10 apiece by Nick George and Nelson McKown.
PREP WRESTLING
PHS' Haught named MOW
FAIRMONT - Jared Haught won the 182-pound individual crown at the Winner's Choice here Saturday, helping Parkersburg to a third place finish, en route to earning the Most Outstanding Wrestler award.
Haught was the lone champion for the Big Reds, who finished ahead of Ripley, but behind champion Point Pleasant and runner-up Washington.
The Big Reds, who compete next Friday and Saturday at the Christiansburg Invitational, had runner-up efforts from 106-pounder Austin Spears and 113-pounder Nick Johnson.
