Jean Collins Busch, 80, of Parkersburg, W.Va., died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Gail and Dorothy Mae (Hendricks) Collins. Jean, a graduate of Parkersburg High School, obtained her business degree from Mountain State Business College. She is a former employee of Union Trust Bank, Oxbow Golf Course and Parkwood Realty. She was a long time member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for over 50 years, and played hand bells. She was often a featured soloist and studied voice with Dr. Marie Boette. An artistic and inventive woman, Jean was able to accomplish any task she desired, regardless of the difficulty.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Busch Scott (Bobby) of Parkersburg; sister, Beverly C. Clark (David E.) of White Post, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John A. Busch, whom she married at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church on March 3, 1956.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Russell officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday.
