MORGANTOWN - Taryn McCutcheon scored 29 points and added five boards and four assists, but it wasn't quite enough for visiting Parkersburg South here Thursday night as the Patriots came up short to University, 62-59.
Keya Bartlett added 16 points and four steals for the Patriots, who dropped to 5-5 and play on Saturday afternoon at Shadyside.
University (9-1) received 14 points apiece from Kayla Boggs and Mariah Callen while Shelby Boyle contributed 10 markers.

WILLIAMSTOWN - Hannah and Heather Lord were two of four Wildcat scorers to record double-digit points in Wood County Christian's 52-36 victory over Licking County Christian here Thursday night.
Hannah scored 10 points while her sister scored 12. Also in double figures were Rachel Ruble with 10 points and Adria Herridge, who recorded a double-double with 10 tallies and 10 boards. The Wildcats (7-4) headed into the locker room with a 15-point lead and were on cruise control throughout the second half.
Abby McLughlin led Licking County Christian (5-3) with 19 points.
Tyler Consolidated 59, Magnolia 50
KIDWELL - Host Tyler Consolidated defeated Magnolia, 59-50, here Friday night in the semifinals of the Silver Knights' own tournament.
Sophie Kinnard led all point-producers with 20 points for the Silver Knights, who improved to 6-5 and also received double figure scoring nights from Sydney Reed (16) and Allison Wable (12).
Mallory Chapman had 18 points for the Blue Eagles (5-7).
Reed grabbed 14 boards to post a double-double while teammate Torrye Cline had nine counters and five assists.

SOUTH CHARLESTON - South Charleston upped its mark to 8-1 here Thursday night as the host Black Eagles rolled past Parkersburg, 74-33.
The Big Reds, who dropped to 3-7 and play Saturday at Nitro, got a combined 17 points from Ben Umpleby and Trevor Britton.
Adrian Cunningham notched a game-high 16 points for the Black Eagles, who led 22-6 after one.
Gilmer County 66,
Calhoun County 40
GLENVILLE - Anthony Aviles poured in 25 points to lead all scorers as the Titans of Gilmer County rolled over Calhoun County, 66-40.
The outcome was never in doubt as the Titans (6-3) entered the locker room with a 38-20 lead. Leading the way for the Red Devils (1-8) was Ryan Slider, who scored 14 points in the defeat.
The Titans will look to contine their winning ways Saturday when the face Charleston Catholic. Meanwhile Calhoun County will look to start a winning streak when they face South Harrison on Tuesday.

WILLIAMSTOWN -Jamie Arnold for Wood County Christian sank two free throws with five seconds to go to send the game into overtime tied at 38 and the Wildcats outscored visiting Licking County 12-3 in the overtime period to emerge victorious with a 50-41 win here Thursday night.
Arnold and teammate Patrick Goff scored 14 points apiece for the 5-8 Wildcats, who received a double-double of 10 points and a game-high 13 boards from Luke Davis.
LCC was led by Jake Ross's game-high 20-point effort.
St. Albans 43, Ripley 39
ST. ALBANS - Kade Harrison finished with a game-high 16 points for visiting Ripley here Thursday evening, but the Vikings were outscored 17-7 in the final eight minutes as St. Albans rallied for a 43-39 triumph.
Taylor Clark led the Red Dragons with 10 points.
Chuck Sleboda chipped in 14 points, eight boards and three assists for the Vikings.
St. Marys 63, Doddridge County 50
ST. MARYS - St. Marys won for the seventh time in eight games as the Blue Devils topped visiting Doddridge County on Thursday evening, 63-50.
The Blue Devils, now 5-1 in the LKC North, used balanced scoring to knock off the Bulldogs, who dropped to 1-6. Jordan Whitehair paced the victors with 17 points while Andrew Cosper had 15, Connor Lancaster 11 and Austin Bayless 10.
Ashton Hinzman produced 16 markers and Keith Britton a dozen for the 'Dogs.
