Rosalee Statler Wilson, 86, of Parkersburg, formerly of Pennsboro, passed away Jan. 6, 2013, at Worthington Manor Nursing Facility.
She was born May 30, 1926, in Pennsboro, a daughter of the late John A. Statler and Ruth (Pfeltz) Statler.
Mrs. Wilson graduated with honors from West Virginia University with a degree in Education. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Wilson's Pharmacy in Pennsboro for many years. She was active in local government and organizations, and was a member of Pennsboro United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer. She recently attended Stout Memorial United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. Along with serving her community, Rosalee had a great love for the care and well-being of animals. She also was an avid reader who enjoyed teaching others to read. She taught piano to many students in Ritchie County, as well.
Surviving is her daughter, Cinda Fleming and her husband, David, of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Derek Fleming of Vienna, Lindsey Fleming of Morgantown and Aaron Wilson of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Logan and Briar Wilson of Cairo; daughter-in-law, Lori Wilson Poling of Pennsboro; and special friends, Kate Miller of Studio City, Calif., and Louis Simon of Parkersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilson Jr.; two sons, Terry and Tim Wilson; and brother, John William "Bill" Statler.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pennsboro United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kelly Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Harmony Masonic Cemetery, Pennsboro. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
