G. Stanley Cox, 85, formerly of Vienna/Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio.
He was born July 10, 1927, at Pullman, W.Va., a son of Lawrence and Eva Cox.
He graduated from Pennsboro High School and West Virginia University. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as Sales Manager of Ohio Valley Data Control, and retired from Electronic Data Systems.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Lamm, Bridgeport, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bette; his daughters, Mickey Cox and Cheryl Enslen (Nobby), both of Westerville, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Enslen.
Stan was a Board Member of Vienna Recreation Improvement, lifetime member of Parkersburg Elks Lodge BPOE 198 and American Legion. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. He was an avid WVU sports fan, and past member of Mountaineer Athletic Club.
Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna, W.Va., and the memorial service will start at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dr. Thomas McDowell presiding.
