Doris Nell Davitian, 77, of Parkersburg, died Jan. 3, 2013, in Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Lincoln Brooks and Iris Maxson Flesher. She was a retired school teacher from the Marietta School System, having taught Home Economics and Biology for many years. She attended West Virginia University, West Virginia University at Parkersburg and Potomac State College; obtaining her Master's Degree in Education. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dutch Ridge Garden Club and the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children, Louie S. (Sandy) Davitian II of Vienna, Timothy S. Davitian of Parkersburg, Theodore (Kathie) Davitian of Vienna and Linda (Tom) Parmer of Carrollton, Ga.; four grandchildren, Michaelyn Davitian, Samuel Parmer, Noah Davitian and Lilly Parmer; brother, Earl (Shirley) Flesher; and sister-in-law, Lila Flesher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Flesher.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Kevin Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
