Robert Burton Pickrell, 77, of Belpre, died Jan. 3, 2013, at the Arbors of Marietta.
He was born May 28, 1935, in Wood County, a son of the late Ola Virgus and Vicie Arie Callow Pickrell. He retired as a union carpenter, Carpenter's Union Local 899. He was baptized at the Camden Avenue Church of Christ in 2001, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Luella West Pickrell; three daughters, Debra Louise Jones of Parkersburg, Cheryl Lynn (David W.) Haugh of Harrisville and Judith Leona (Jerry) Sephfus of Vincent, Ohio; two sons, Robert D. (Kim) Pickrell of Waverly, Mark E. (Jayne) Pickrell of Belpre; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three step-children, Kenneth (Sandy) West Jr. of Lower Salem, Ohio, Harvey (Lisa) West of Vienna and Geraldine Bailey of Marietta; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Pickrell of Oklawaha, Fla. and Roy Pickrell of Utah; two sisters, Karen Bennett of Fort Myers, Fla. and Rosemary of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ola Austin Pickrell.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Mark Mason and Pastor Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
