PARKERSBURG - Mid-Ohio Valley residents will have a number of activities and events to choose from as they celebrate the end of 2012 and the arrival of 2013 on New Year's Eve.
Some of those will include:
WOOD COUNTY
* The Blennerhassett Hotel in downtown Parkersburg will host a New Year's Eve Gala to ring in 2013. There will be live music by Columbus group Encore Entertainment for the party.
The hotel's New Year's Eve package includes overnight accommodations for two, hors d'oeuvres all evening, a midnight buffet, a cash bar and a champagne toast.
* A New Year's Eve dance, sponsored by American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown, will be Dec. 31 at the post home on Central Avenue.
Music will be provided by DJ Jack Horton from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. The cost is $10 for singles and $15 for couples and there will be appetizers and party favors. The event is open to the public.
* The 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church will have a New Year's Eve Watch Service on Dec. 31 at the church at 4124 14th Ave. in south Parkersburg.
The evening will begin at 8 p.m. with food and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall. The service will begin at 9 p.m. and include special singing by New Legacy and The Mission Trio.
* Chams Lebanese Cuisine in Parkersburg is having a New Year's Eve celebration beginning at 9 p.m. at the restaurant on Market Street in downtown Parkersburg.
The event will featured will be a buffet of Lebanese and American food, along with live music, a belly dancer, Dabke dancing and a midnight champagne toast. For information about the event, call 304-428-2730.
* On New Year's Day, the Baptist Temple of Parkersburg will hold its annual free New Year's Day community dinner from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Jan. 1 at the church, at 19th Street and Park Avenue in Parkersburg.

* In Rockport, Tri-County Worship Center will hold a Year End Revival and New Year's Eve Worship Service from Dec. 30 to Jan. 2.
There will be events at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today. The New Year's Eve Service will be 7 p.m. Dec. 31 and activities will also be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 1 and 2. A special guest during the revival will be Evangalist Ron Martin of Sealy, Texas.
WASHINGTON
COUNTY
* On New Year's Eve, the Holiday Inn in Marietta will be offering a special package for couples that includes admittance to a dance party in Brandy's Lounge with music from a DJ. The package will also include champagne, party favors, a midnight buffet and a New Year's Day breakfast buffet.

* On New Year's Eve, the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta will feature a New Year's Party at 8 p.m. with music by local band Titus Canbe from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. There will be a midnight buffet, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight in the ballroom.

* The Adelphia Music Hall in The Galley at 203 Second St. in Marietta will host a New Year's Eve Party with music by local band Hit Parade on Dec. 31.

* The Valley Gem Sternwheeler will be offering a New Year's Eve Cruise from 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Dec. 31, departing from 601 Front St. in Marietta.
The cruise will feature a prime rib buffet dinner, music, a cash bar and a champagne toast at midnight. The cost is $49.99 per person and reservations are required by calling (740) 373-7862.
* A New Year's Eve Party will be Dec. 31 at the Knights of Columbus Hall at Churchtown on Ohio 676 west of Marietta.

* Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5108 will hold a Surf and Turf New Year's Eve dinner party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at the post at 319 Pike St. in Marietta.

AROUND THE VALLEY
* North Bend State Park at Cairo is offering special packages for New Year's Eve. The park lodge will host a dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by a dance from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. with live music by Stonestreet, from Charleston. There will also be snacks, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight.
