Brooks Frederick Flesher

Brooks Frederick Flesher, 77, of Millwood, W.Va., passed away Dec. 27, 2012, in Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus in Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born June 15, 1935, in Millwood, a son of the late Dana and Anna Gay (Merical) Flesher.

His brother, James Flesher, and sister, Margaret (Flesher) Barnett Walent, also preceded him in death.

He was a retired furnace operator from Pechiney Aluminum, and a member of United Steelworkers Local #5668. He was a former employee of American Hard Rubber, the Raven Drive Inn, Wesvaco and Midwest Steel. He attended the First Baptist Church, Ravenswood, and enjoyed woodworking. Brooks was a caring and giving person, who continually gave thanks for his family.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Annabelle (Shinn) Flesher of Millwood; son, Jeff (Venisa) Flesher of Ravenswood; daughter, Mika (Oliver) Pifer of Murraysville; grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Flesher, Nathanael Brooks Flesher and Whitney Brooke Pifer; brother, Junior C. "Buck" Flesher of Millwood; brother-in-law, Lonnie Shinn; two brothers-in-law, whom he raised and considered his special sons, Chuck Shinn and Clayton Shinn; sisters-in-law, Patsy Sailer, Peg Biles and Jo Merical; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, W.Va., with Pastor Mark Gerstell officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
