Betty Beckett, 84, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Arbors at Marietta.
She was born Tuesday, May 22, 1928, in Akron, Ohio. Betty worked at the Food Center as a cashier for 26 years, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #5108 and the Marietta Moose #1823.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Juanita Beckett Styer; one son, Charles Michael Beckett; two grandchildren, Tony (Dana) Styer and Nicole Styer; two great-grandchildren, Estella and Cooper Styer; one brother, David (Theresa) Frazier of Medina, Ohio; two nieces, Glory (Erik) Goehringer of Akron, Ohio and Rachel (Glenn) Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio; and two nephews, Norman and Robert Snyder of Medina, Ohio. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Charles Hamrick and Myrtle Maggie Fought; husband, Denzil Verlin Beckett; sister, Mildred Snyder; and her biological mother, Della Frazier, who she became very good friends with during her lifetime.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Hadley Funeral Home, 500 Fifth Street, Marietta, Ohio. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday, Jan. 4.
