James Eugene Anderson, 76, of Auburn, passed away Dec. 28, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Harrisville, a son of the late Earl James Anderson and Edith (Valentine) Anderson. Jim retired from Morgan Drive Away. He previously worked for Delta Airlines and Keith's Exxon. He, along with his wife, were among the first EMT's in Ritchie County. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting. He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, a member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Dortha (Riddle) Anderson; children, Beverly Jo Lopreste (Jim) of Belpre, Ohio, Terry Lynn Skinner (Rick) of Stewart, Ohio, Larry Dean Gregg (Debra) of Auburn, Cheryl Ann Gregg of Harrisville, Jeff Anderson of Kentucky and Alecia Reading of Florida. He also leaves behind a brother, Earl Edwin Anderson (Doris) of Virginia Beach, Va.; 9 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Rev. John Frum officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Union Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
