Vera Lorena Wolf Eaton was born Nov. 7, 1925 to Oseni and Allen Wolfe. She passed away Dec. 23, 2012, at the Willows Nursing Home.
She married Bernard Edward Eaton June 12, 1944. They had two sons Daniel Eaton and David L. Eaton. Bernard and Vera then adopted a daughter Tammy Ann Eaton.
She worked in food service for many years, including Mountain State College Snack Bar, the Peddler and many other locations. She and Bernard opened their own cafe on 6th Street and ran that for several years.
She had resided at Unity Plaza in south Parkersburg for many years and was one of the early tenants. She enjoyed the Thursday night music, yard sales and trips these funded. Vera loved music and to dance and would be seen frequently at the Eagles, VFW or the Legion dancing away. Vera loved to cook for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Eaton then her two sons Daniel Eaton and David Eaton.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Livengod and daughters in law Rebecca Eaton and Pat (Robert) Reeder. She had several grandchildren Ann (Jessie) Owens, Danielle (Donald) Fordyce, Kim Turner, Jennifer Vongsazanh, Jessica Ball and five great grand children Colton Owens, Jordan Owens, Haliegh Wharton, Mercedez Wharton and Sophie Vongsazanh and a sister Hilma (Tommy) Thomas.
Visitation will be at South Parkersburg Baptist Church Saturday at 1 p.m. Vera donated her body to West Virginia University to help students learn more about the human body. Donations can be made to Paul's Camp for Relay for Life at the American Cancer Society and to the American Heart Association.
