William Henry ‘Bill’ Meredith

William Henry "Bill" Meredith, 91, of Sistersville, W.Va., passed away Dec. 24, 2012, at Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, W.Va.

He was born July 1, 1921, in Tyler County, W.Va., a son of the late Presley and Grace Garman Meredith.

Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he had worked at Rand's Jewelry as a watchmaker and he was retired from Union Carbide. He was a member of the Osiris Shrine, the Pursley Church of Christ and he was a avid farmer.

He is survived by one son, Jan Meredith of Sistersville; one daughter, Luanne (Matthew) Beard of Sardis, Ohio; granddaughters, Emily, Lauren and Megan Beard of Sardis; brother, James Robert (Gloria) Meredith of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann McIntyre Meredith in 2010.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family is requesting donations to either Pursley Church of Christ, c/o Tom Butterfield, 901 Tyler Highway, Sistersville, WV 26175, or Journey Hospice, 314 S. Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175.
