Paul Benjamin Montgomery, 86, recently of Lottridge Area, Ohio, formerly of Harrisville, W.Va. and Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2012, in the presence of his family.
Paul was a devout Catholic, a World War II veteran and an avid golfer, but most of all, a kind and caring Christian family man. Paul was retired from Dominion Transmission, formerly CNG Transmission Corporation, with over 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth A. Montgomery (Kesterson); one son, Tony (Robin) Montgomery of St. Marys, W.Va.; and two daughters, Vivian R. Montgomery of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Janette (Tim) Jones of Lottridge area, Ohio. He has two grandchildren, Lori (Aaron) Nutt of Harrisville, W.Va. and Scott (Stacie) Montgomery of Davisville, W.Va. He has two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Haley Nutt. He is also survived by one sister, Joan Montgomery of Wheeling Island, W.Va. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Lloyd and Harry; and an infant sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Thursday at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with Father Robert Gallagher as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
