Dorothy Mae Woodring Spencer, 86, of Parkersburg, passed away Dec. 22, 2012, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, W.Va.
She was born in Wood County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Robert L. and Pearl Crouser Woodring.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, and had worked at one time for C&P Telephone Co. as a service assistant. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Clare Edna Chapter 140, the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and had volunteered with the Salvation Army Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Stephenson United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James R. Spencer and wife, Barbara, of Parkersburg; and one grandson, Douglas J. Spencer, also of Parkersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Spencer in June of this year; and one sister, Margaret J. Browning.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with the Rev. Terry Alvarez officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
