Gene Leslie Brown, 81, of Beatrice, W.Va., passed away Dec. 22, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Aug. 31, 1931, at Roan Mountain, Tenn., a son of the late Fayette Brown and Callie (Graybill) Brown.
Mr. Brown was a retired machinist with 35 years service for General Motors. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Beatrice Church of Christ.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Cora L. (Hawkins) Brown; daughter, Ruth L. Mullins and husband, Warren, of Harts, W.Va.; son, Gary Gene Brown and wife, Gail, of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Mae Schaffer; four brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Deem Cemetery, Beatrice. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
