Healing our darkened hearts

December 23, 2012

Here we go again. Sadly and totally unnecessarily another mass murder has happened in our country. And worse, this time it was young children that were targeted. And, as always the focus is on guns and how we can control ownership of them. Just once instead of focusing on the symptoms let's focus on the problem.

In this country there has always been guns owned by people and there has always been evil people who would use them for evil purposes.

Have you noticed that from 1776 to the 1960s we seldom heard of this kind of deviant behavior, but since then it has spiraled out of control?

Why now and what's the difference? Ask Madalyn Murray O'Hare. Ask Roe vs Wade. Ask those who would tell God to get out of our lives and leave us alone. Ask those who would reject reality and would prefer tolerance of any and all evil in the guise of "self-esteem." How has that worked out?

Romans1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness," verse 21 "Because that when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."

There is where the problem lies.

To take guns does nothing to address the problem, it only deflects attention away from the real issue.

In order to solve a problem you must face the problem head on, understand the problem, and deal with the problem, not the symptom, whether it is politically correct, socially offensive or not. Treat the problem, not the symptom.

Romans Chapter 1 shows us the problem and 2 Chronicles Chapter 7 verse 14 gives us the answer to the problem: "If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
