Floretta "Flora" Nesselroad, 92, of Millwood, W.Va., passed away Dec. 15, 2012, in the Ravenswood Village, following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Holly and Phoebe (Anderson) Wolfe; eight brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
She was a "Rosie the Riveter," and worked at Consolidated Aircraft Company in San Diego, Calif., during World War II. She was a past president and active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood, a charter member of the Cottageville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and a longstanding member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Warren William Nesselroad; sons, Sidney Nesselroad of Ellensburg, Wash. and Lyle (Patty) Nesselroad of Ravenswood; sisters, Loretta "Lora" Mahan of Millwood and Geraldine Young of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Lara Brian, Ben and Michelle; and six great-grandchildren.
Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, W.Va., with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of service at Tuesday the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ravenswood Cemetery.
