VINCENT - In what was a tale of two halves for Logan, the Warren Warriors were able to come away with an SEOAL win at home Wednesday night by defeating the Chieftains, 50-45.
After shooting 48 percent in the first half, Logan was held to just nine field goals on 26 shots (35 percent) in the second half and scored just six points in the fourth quarter.
"We changed up our defense a little bit," said Warren head coach Amy Colgrove. "We went into a zone-trap, which seemed to throw them off kilter a little bit. We were able to get a few steals."

Warren won despite early foul trouble and being outrebounded. The Warriors got a boost from Jordanna Rauch, who had a game-high 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Ullman also chipped in nicely with 10 points. Amy Fleming, who had seven points, led the team in rebounding with six boards.

Paige Davis led Logan with 13 points, followed by Taylor Myers' 10 points. The Chieftains had trouble scoring outside of the paint, shooting just 1-for-14 from beyond the arch and 4-for-19 from the foul line.
"It was a sloppy game," Colgrove said. "A lot of turnovers for us. They killed us on the boards, but at critical times we were able to execute some things. We played hard and we were able to get a big win in the league."
The win also marked a little bit of revenge for the Warriors.
"Logan was our first league loss last year, so to get that monkey off our back and get a league win is big," Colgrove explained.
Warren is now 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the SEOAL. The loss drops Logan to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the league.
In the junior varsity game, Warren won 40-22. The next game for the Warriors is at Portsmouth at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Indiana girls prep team wins, 107-2
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indiana high school girls basketball team routed an opponent 107-2 this week, prompting an official with the state prep sports association to say he never wants to see anything so one-sided again.
Bloomington South coach Larry Winters told the Indianapolis Star there was no effort to embarrass Arlington or run up the score during Tuesday's game. He says he played all nine of his players and didn't stop shooting because "that would have been more embarrassing" to Arlington, whose only points came on a free throw in the second quarter and another in the third.
First-year Arlington coach Ebony Jackson says was disappointed with how Bloomington South (8-1) handled the game. Her team is 0-6 this year and has lost 23 straight games.
Chris Kaufman, the assistant commissioner for the Indiana High School Athletic Association, says "we don't want to see anything this one-sided" and that most schools try to avoid such a blowout result. There is no "mercy rule" in Indiana, where games are halted when the score gets out of hand.
