WVU-P selects Boley for commencement speech

PARKERSBURG - State Sen. Donna Boley will be the featured speaker at the 2012 Fall Commencement at West Virginia University at Parkersburg at 7 p.m. Friday in the college activities center.

A WVU-P alumna, Boley was recently elected to her eighth term in the West Virginia Senate. She served as the minority leader in the 70th, 71st and 72nd Legislatures and has also served as chairman of the Pleasants County Republican Executive Committee, former chairman of the West Virginian Republican Executive Committee. From 1992 to 2004, she served as a Republican national committeewoman. In 1968, she received the Distinguished West Virginian Award.

WVU-P's fall 2012 graduating class includes 236 candidates for graduation who will receive about 279 degrees and certificates.

Participating in the ceremony will be about 87 members of the graduating class.

WVU-P President Marie Foster Gnage will preside over the ceremony. A reception for the graduates and their families will follow the ceremony.
