Gary Lee Curfman, 72, of Waverly, passed away Dec. 10, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born in Davisville, W.Va., on Oct. 5, 1940, a son of the late Harold C. and Helen May Coberly Curfman. He began working for Borg Warner for many years, and then G. E. Plastics from where he retired. He enjoyed his grandchildren and R.C. cars and planes. Gary was an avid hunter, and enjoyed working on guns.
Gary is survived by his wife, Shelia Jo Bartlett Curfman; son, James Jason Curfman of Elizabeth; step-sons, Jerral J. Curfman of Parkersburg, Kevin B. Curfman and Shawna of Waverly, Scott Blyton of Parkersburg and Bobby Wells of Davisville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Christina Caplinger, Talina Boyles, Regina Longwell, Mary Kinney and Sherry Lonis; brothers, Bob Curfman, Steve Curfman and Lane Curfman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Shane Curfman.
The service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with full military rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, and noon-1 p.m. Friday prior the service.
