United Way Alliance Pacesetters grow

VIENNA - United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley publicly recognizes individuals that contribute $500 or more throughout its fall campaign. United Way, which raises funds for a network of health and human service agencies, calls this elite group of donors its Pacesetters Club. These individuals provide the foundation upon which the rest of the community can build by recognizing the vital importance of personal giving at an exceptional level.

Linda Bechtold McCormick, 2012-13 Pacesetter Club chairman, states, "I am so pleased by the response from our community. At United Way, our success is measured not only by dollars raised, but also by lives improved. Your generosity and caring provides a better quality of life for people throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley."

Many Pacesetter contributors are pleased to know their donations remain in the communities served by their United Way Alliance. Their generous donations make a positive and lasting impact on our community."

Each and every day, someone you know is helped by United Way through its support for education, health and emergency service agencies. Your generous support serves as a powerful testament to the value of neighbor helping neighbor and the spirit of giving that is a hallmark of our Mid-Ohio Valley community, states McCormick.

Through Dec. 5, there are 93 members who together have donated $154,430.20 to the United Way Alliance.

Leading the way at the Alexis deTocqueville Society ($10,000-plus) are Mary McDonough Riccobene and Nick Swisher.

Platinum Level ($5,000 to $9,999) donors are Richard and Liza Adams, Arthur and Judy Campbell, Frank and Becky Deem, Harry and Kathe Deitzler, Harry H. Esbenshade Jr. Harry H., III and Margaret S. Esbenshade, John and Sherri Wheeler.

Those giving at the Gold Level ($2,500 - $4,999) are Arlene and Edward Borkowski, Chris and Rita Campbell, Alice M. Harris, Jan Dils and Chuck Hughes, Michael and Catherine King, Dr. and Mrs. Barry Louden, Frieda Owen, JT and Mary Thomas.

"Our efforts create positive change in the well-being of children, creating opportunities for all individuals and families to thrive happily an independently, and strengthening the family unit," states Joyce Mather, executive director. The alliance agencies serve Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia as well as Washington and Athens counties in Ohio.
