If you are under the age of 40 and born in America, hug your mother and thank her for allowing you to be born. Since 1973, she has had the "choice" and legal right to have had you killed before you took your first breath.
Sobering thought? Are you missing a brother or sister or an aunt or uncle or cousin from around your Thanksgiving dinner table? Are you sure? One in five women in the USA have had an abortion. On Jan. 22, 1973, seven unelected men on the U.S. Supreme Court brushed aside the constitutional separation of powers and made abortion on demand the law of the land. Since then there have been over 55 million abortions and still over a million per year, 3,228 per day or one every 27 seconds.
These unborn babies aren't given a shot and put to sleep as we would do a beloved pet. They are cut into pieces and scraped (D&C), injected with saline poisons and burned to death, parts of baby twisted and pulled apart (D&E), partially born but before the baby's head is delivered it is punctured and brains sucked out or mother is given RU-486 pills to starve the baby to death. Again the "choice" of the woman.
Here in West Virginia, we can be thankful to live in a pro-life state and for organizations like West Virginians For Life who spend 365 days a year trying to educate the public, change laws to protect the life of the unborn, and elect pro-lifers to public offices in our government. We can be thankful that West Virginia has 30 crisis pregnancy centers and two maternity homes and only two abortions clinics (Charleston) and only one Planned Parenthood Clinic (Vienna).
For whatever reasons the majority of Americans in 2012 "chose" to vote for President Barack Obama or "chose" to stay home and not vote at all, it was obviously not a "choice" for life. They will all have to answer someday to Almighty God for their "choices."
While reflecting on your blessings of living in the greatest nation in world history, remember to be thankful for the founding fathers who gave all Americans the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And thank the woman whose "choice" gave you life.
