Eleanor L. Hull

Eleanor L. Hull, 91, of Parkersburg, died on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

She was born July 10, 1921, in Richmond, Va., to the late James T. Lewis III and Mary Boehling Lewis. Through the years, Eleanor had careers as Teacher, Secretary and Bookkeeper. She earned Associate Degrees in Administration and in Accounting. Eleanor was a member of St. Margaret Mary Welcoming Team, Sanctuary Society and "The Stitchers" quilt group. She was active in Fit for Life exercise and enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by four daughters, Eleanor L. McCarthy (Michael) of Parkersburg, Mary T. Shacklett of Columbia, S.C., Anne M. Leich of Wayne, N.J. and Paula M. Pojouha of Parker, Colo.; four sons, Frank Spitzig (Olinda) of Irving, Texas, Joseph A. Spitzig (Juliana) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Edward J. Spencer (Trish) of Corralitos, Calif. and William L. Spitzig of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; four step-daughters, Joan Wright of Ludlow, Ky., Margaret Byrne of Richmond, Va., Patricia Donnelly of Cincinnati, Ohio and Catherine Gromovsky of Rockville, Va.; one brother, John J. Lewis of Richmond, Va.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Hull; three brothers, James T. Lewis IV, George A. Lewis and Charles E. Lewis; and three sisters, Mary C. Hull, Dorothy Shewbridge and Margaret Stenger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Parkersburg, with luncheon immediately following in the parish hall. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Memory Sharing at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
