PARKERSBURG - A second man in as many days was Tased early Wednesday morning by Parkersburg police, authorities said.
An officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of 16th and Covert streets for improper registration, Sgt. Greg Collins, police spokesman, said.
The driver, Jason Edward Drain, 37, 512 17th St., Parkersburg, refused to stop after lights and sirens were activated, leading officers on a pursuit that stayed in the same area throughout its duration, Collins said.

Drain lost control at one point striking a fence, backed into a police cruiser and fled again, Collins said. He again lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a building in an alley off 16th Street where the 1998 Cadillac he was in became disabled.
Drain ran away on foot and was caught in the 1500 block of Covert Street by several police officers, Collins said.
A Taser was successfully deployed during the foot pursuit, causing Drain to go to the ground and be safely handcuffed, Collins said.
Drain had a small amount of marijuana on him and admitted he had been smoking marijuana, Collins said. He also refused to cooperate with officers regarding field sobriety tests and questioning, Collins said.
Drain smelled of alcohol and marijuana and tested .045 on the Intoximeter at the police station, Collins said.
The incident happened at 3:17 a.m.
The police department learned Drain is wanted by the North Carolina Department of Corrections on a probation violation related to drug charges, Collins said.
Authorities in North Carolina were contacted, but refused to extradite him on those charges, Collins said.
Drain was processed at headquarters without further incident on a felony charge of fleeing while DUI, Collins said. He was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on $5,000 bond.
The penalty upon conviction is three to 10 years in prison.
Drain was the second person Tased by the department this week.
On Monday, Bradley Eugene Draper was Tased after officers, who earlier were at his apartment on Avery Street on a possession of stolen property investigation, said Draper called the 911 Center and threatened to shoot law enforcement officers if they returned.
Officers returned to the residence where Draper was standing at the door and refused an order to show his hands. He refused, using profanity, and started to go into his residence, at which time he was Tased and taken into custody without further incident, police said.
