Jonathan Dale Newell, 39, of Munday, W.Va., departed this life unexpectedly on Dec. 3, 2012.
He was born on May 22, 1973, the son of Jack and Donna Newell.
Jon leaves behind a family he loved very much; his wife, Leann and daughter Hannah. Together they attended the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, where he will be greatly missed. Jon was the Song Leader, as well as active with the youth for many years. He was always there, no matter what the need, to lend a helping hand. Next to God and family, Jon loved the outdoors. He could be found with his dogs coon hunting in the woods, fishing our local streams or just roaming the hills he loved. Jon was employed by HG Energy in Spencer, W.Va.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Jon leaves behind his mother, Donna Newell of Munday; brother, Richard (Misty) Newell of Coolville, Ohio; and two sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Lemon and Kathy (Vernon) Walker, both of Munday.
Jon will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and his special way of spinning a story. He was a very unique individual who was greatly loved by all his family and extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Carmel and Edith Newell, Oren and Maxine Parks and father Jack Newell.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Big Bend Cemetery in Big Bend, with Pastor David Carpenter officiating.
The Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville is in charge of arrangements.
